News: Ke$ha - We R Who We R

Well, The Prophet Blog and Chart Rigger must be squirming in their matching trash bag onesies right now, because their stinky princess K$UX's new track is a proper T-U-N-E.

"We R Who We R" premiered moments ago on Z100, and it's going to be BIG. Rull big.

Frivolously fabulous lyrics celebrating freaks 'n' geeks (sound familiar?), vocal stutters (I'M SUCH A SUCKER FOR VOCAL STUTTERING), and an ever-so-slightly modified regurgitation of the "Tik Tok" beat (that sounds a little bit likeRihanna's "Who's That Chick," which sounds a little bit like a Ke$ha song). What else could you need to celebrate the re-release of Animal?! 

Ke$ha is working here again with the usual suspects. Dr. Luke, Benny Blanco, and Ammo co-wrote as well as produced the song. That means this fits neatly in with Ke$ha's four previous top 10 smash hits. It is uptempo dance-pop with a trashy edge providing great Friday night party music. The difference here is there is a specific point to the song, and it is injected with genuine humor.

There is humor here as well. Only Ke$ha would really sing about looking "sick and sexy-fied," wearing hot pants in the club, and the extra credibility given by, "Jesus on my necklace." Ke$ha's sing-speak style is unlikely to ever win any vocal awards, but it is distinctive and works in the context of leading a party atmosphere. As a kick-off to Cannibal, a bonus end-of-the-year EP of sorts, "We R Who We R" is solid.
